The story of Terah, Abraham’s father is often overlooked, but his life holds powerful lessons for us today.

Before Abraham became the Father of Faith (Romans 4:16), Terah made a bold decision (to accompany Abraham to Israel – the original Call of God was to Abraham alone to depart Babylon (Ur) and go to Israel (Canaan) excluding Terah and Lot) that set his family on the path toward God’s Promises.

Note: Abraham is the Father of the Judeo-Christian faith.

• It is Ambraham that received the Call of God to come out of Babylon and go to Israel.

• It was Abraham that was visited by Melchizedek (Jesus Christ) and Abraham gave tithes and offerings to Melchizedek while Melchizedek gave Abraham the Bread and Wine (New Testament) Communion (Genesis 14:17-20).

• It was Abraham that was declared by God to be a Friend of God (Isaiah 41:8).

Also Note: Abraham lived after Job (Jobab Genesis 10:29).

In the lifetime of Job (Jobab) it was Job that was his own priesthood. Job was continually offering sacrifices on behalf of himself and his family – all with disasterious results.

Shortly after Job during Abraham’s time God in Melchizedek revealed to Abraham the True Eternal Melchizedek Prieshood of God (Hebrews 7:25), making Abraham the Father of our Judeo-Christian Melchizedek Faith.

How different life would be if it was Job and his self-righteous priesthood that was the spiritual Father of our Faith.

Fortunately it is Abraham and the True Eternal Melchizedek Priesthood of faith in Jesus Christ alone that is the True Spiritual Father of our Eternal Judeo-Christian Faith.
